Illinois Assistive Technology Program

On October 22, 2024, a team from IATP provided an in-service presentation to a group of 16 Speech Language Pathologists at the Bloomington location. IATP staff brought a variety of Assistive Technology (AT) and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) devices for staff to learn about. IATP provides evaluations for students aged 3-22 through a grant with the Illinois state Board of Education (ISBE). TCSEA has utilized these services to evaluate students, provide recommendations about AT and AAC needs and arrange for the appropriate devices to be purchased for students in cooperation with the school districts. IATP can also help with training staff and families on use of the devices.
